Blackjack Basics

Blackjack is played between a player and a dealer. In large casinos, it is played with several players on the same table. The online version is most often one-on-one (duo). Blackjack is one of the most popular games on the internet and in casinos. 1 to 8 decks of 52 cards contained in a special box, called a shoe is used to play. Most often the decks of cards are shuffled after each game คาสิโน.

The Blackjack Table

Blackjack uses a special table usually covered with green felt on which are written the basic rules of the game. In addition, there are places for the betting players, for the card players, for the card dealer and sometimes even for the players. drinks. Here is the traditional blackjack table layout explaining everything related to the table layout, blackjack cards and the materials used in the game.

The blackjack table is generally semi-circular in shape and sometimes octagon shaped. The dealer stands on the right side of the table from side to side with the players sitting around the rounded part. As it has already been said, the blackjack table has a green coating, but it can also be blue or red depending on the style of the casino เกมส์คาสิโน.

It is in fact possible to divide the blackjack table into two imaginary parts: one part for the players and one part for the dealer.

The part of the table for the players consists of a space containing the chips, the drinks as well as the spots which are the only places to be able to contain the bets. The dealer’s part therefore contains all the rest of the table, and no one except him is allowed to get into it or to deposit bets, cards, etc. You must therefore remember that only the croupier has the right to touch the cards and make the payments; players can only touch their chips (when betting) and make decisions either by verbally indicating the decision (“Card!”) or by making gestures known to the dealer.

Blackjack Chips

The tokens have different colors depending on their value. Here are the official chip colors that are used in most casinos:

(beige) – $ 0.25 (blue) – $ 10 (purple) – $ 500

(white) – $ 0.50 – $ 1 (yellow) – $ 20 (orange) – $ 1,000

(pink) – $ 2.50 (green) – $ 25 (gray) – $ 5,000

(red) – $ 5 (black) – $ 100

The Value Of Cards

The goal of a blackjack player is to end the game with a total greater than the dealer’s hand and never go over 21. If the total of the cards is greater than 21, then a bust is said. and he lost.

Cards in blackjack have special values that are used to calculate the total in your hand. So all the small cards from 2 to 9 show a value equal to the card itself. For example, a 4 is worth 4 points and a 6 is worth 6 points. All higher cards (10, Jack, Queen and King) are worth 10 points. In blackjack, the ace has special value. It can be valued at 1 or 11 points; its value depends on the other cards (for example: if the hand is made up of a 9 and an ace, the ace will count for 11 points while if the hand is made up of a 10, a jack and of an ace, it will count for 1 point).

= 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9

= 10

= 1 or 11

In blackjack, the cards can have another value when the player is counting the cards, but it is important to remember that these values are only used in the card counting strategy to make decisions and in no way influence the total. of the hand or the results of the game.

The Different Hands In Blackjack

Now let’s go over the main deals that players should remember when playing blackjack.

Blackjack or “natural”

A deal made up of an ace and a card worth 10 points, whatever it is, is called a blackjack, or a so-called “natural” hand. If you have this hand, it means that you are automatically winning, unless the dealer also has a “natural” deal (you get the full amount you had bet).

Soft (or supple) hand

Assuming that the ace can be worth one or eleven points, if you have a hand of two or more cards with an ace worth11 points, it is called a “soft hand” (in English, soft hand).

Hard (or rigid) hand

If you have a hand of two or more cards with an ace worth1 point, it is called a “hard hand” (in English, hard hand).

How to play blackjack?

  1. The game begins after the players have bet. The amount of wagers may be limited depending on the rules in force at the gaming table. The dealer deals two cards, one after the other, to each player, and face up (in certain types of blackjack, such as Pontoon, cards can be dealt face down). Then he deals two cards to himself, one face up, the other face down (called the face down card).
  2. Once the players have been served, they must decide how their hand will be. The dealer goes from player to player, and they choose whether they want to fold (take or “draw” another card) or stay (not draw another card). Players can also choose to “double” or “split” – the meaning of these two terms will be explained in a few moments.
  3. The dealer plays after all the players. He plays for him according to a simple but codified rule. The general rule is that of “The bank draws at 16, and remains at 17”, which is also often written on the table itself. This means that the dealer draws cards if he has a hand equal to or less than 16. If his hand is equal to or greater than 17, then he “stays” (he does not draw any more cards).
  4. Since each player plays only against the dealer, his hand is only compared against that of the latter. The cards of other players are therefore not important, unless the player is counting the cards. It is sometimes said that the play of other players can influence yours, but these are only urban legends; all players play against the bank.
  5. The dealer wins when the player goes bankrupt or has a lower hand than the dealer. If the player wins, the dealer gives him money according to his stake. When the dealer wins, the player obviously loses all his bets (except side bets) made with his hand.
